THINGS TO DO at the Whiteside County Senior Center
All trips and activities at the Whiteside County Senior Center (WCSC) are open to everyone interested. Call 626-7707 or stop in to sign up. The Senior Center is located at 1207 West Ninth Street in Sterling.
BINGO - We play Bingo at the senior center every Sunday from 1-4 p.m. If you would like to play Bingo, come join us for an afternoon of fun!
Cards Players - Pinochle and other card games are played each Monday. If you like to play cards, come to the senior center at 12:30 p.m. Monday. Bring a friend and you'll have an afternoon of enjoyment you won't soon forget.
SEWING CIRCLE - Whether your hobby is sewing, crocheting, or knitting, ladies can meet at the senior center at 12:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon at the senior center. Pick up your crochet hook, knitting needles, or needle & thread and come join us. Not only will you get your sewing done, you will learn new ideas from fellow crafters and have socialization as well!

ARE YOU SICK AND TIRED OF FEELING SICK AND TIRED? - Do you have arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, breathing problems or other chronic health problems? Are you overwhelmed by your arthritis or discouraged by the limitations you live with because of you health? The University of Illinois, College of Medicine in Rockford is offering free self-help courses for people with arthritis and other chronic illnesses like diabetes, heart conditions and asthma. These classes will give you the skills and confidence to problem-solve, set goals, manage symptoms and improve communication. You can learn how to be a self manager of your condition. Classes will meet once a week for 2.5 for six weeks and are offered both in the evenings and afternoons. These classes are free and will be held at the Whiteside County Senior Center.
